Jonathan was mostly raised in Missoula but spent some time living in South Cle Elum, Washington in his early teens. He lived with Clint and Caoimhe Dunn, his bonus parents for part of his time in Missoula, and while living in South Cle Elum. Even after moving back to Missoula and getting married, he maintained a close and loving relationship with the Dunns, and he considered them his family. He practiced Asatru, believed in Norse mythology, and enjoyed studying history. He was profoundly proud of his Irish/Scottish heritage and was always researching and looking for ways to incorporate his findings in life. He loved to learn and could school you about Star Wars anytime. Jonathan loved heavy metal music and grey skies. He collected knives, rocks and dead things. Jon fed strays, picked up hitch hikers and always saw the best in you. He enjoyed working with his hands, building and making things, working with leather and creating tattoos, Jon perfected his art. He was resourceful and didn’t crack under pressure. He was full of love and distasteful jokes. He was passionate about his wife; he enjoyed cooking for her and dancing with her in the kitchen. He loved his kids, his dogs, his family and friends.

He was a pain in the ass but loved deeply. Jon had the most beautiful eyes and a contagious smile. He captured so many hearts with his kindness and will be forever missed.
