HAMILTON - Josephine "Jo" Wirtz, 86, of Hamilton passed away Wednesday, November 11, 2009 at her home. She was born March 13, 1923 in Glen Ullin, ND the daughter of Wilhelm and Eva (Kohler) Mayer.
Jo enjoyed water color sketching, dancing and walking and she loved to travel. She volunteered at the Daly Elementary School.
Jo was preceded in death by her husband, Claude Wirtz in 1983; 2 sons, Maurce Jack Stubbs and Leon Jerome Stubbs; brothers, Roney, Joseph, William, and Frank Mayer; sisters, Eva Printz, Frances Anderson, Rosalie and Sylvia and her parents. She is survived by 4 sisters, Barbara France of Missoula, Loretta Palmer of Lake Arthur, NM, Bernie Figg of Hamilton and Jane Sears of Dearborn Heights, MI; 1 brother, Thaddeus Mayer of Missoula; and numerous nieces, nephews, and step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
The family suggests that memorials be made in Jo's name to the American Diabetes Association.
