June Retta (Christopherson) Holt

June Retta Holt, 82 of Hamilton passed away Friday, January 20, 2017 at the Discovery Care Center in Hamilton due to Liver Cancer.

June was born June 1, 1934 at the family home in Darby, MT one of nine children born to Albert and Retta Dalton Christopherson.  June attended Darby Schools through the 9th grade.  She married Richard T. (Dick) Holt on August 1st, 1953.  In 1963, Richard, June and all four kids crammed into the cab of a pickup truck and moved to Las Vegas, NV for 17 years.  In 1980, mom and dad moved back to Montana where they then enjoyed having Clydesdales and Quarter horses. She was the most loving Mom ever.

June loved to Crochet; she played in the Kitchen Band and enjoyed caring for her family and friends.  She was famous for her Deviled Eggs!

She was preceded in death by her husband Richard; parents; sisters, Dorothy, Ruby and LaRae; brothers, Lynn and Duane.

She is survived by her son, Thomas (Shelly) of Oroville, CA., daughter, Cindy Ellingham of Conner, MT., Tim (Sherry) of Boulder City, NV., and Allen (Karlene) of Hamilton, MT; grandchildren, Shane Fisher, Trevor Ellingham, Trista Stevenson and Amanda Plehn; 8 Great grandchildren; sisters, Cora Mae House of Darby, MT., Janice Heiland of Hamilton, MT., Joyce Higgenbotham of Sula, MT.

A celebration of life service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, January 26th at the Daly-Leach Chapel in Hamilton with Pastor John Capen officiating.  Private family urn placement will take place at Corvallis Cemetery at a later date.

The family would like to thank all of the staff at Discovery Care Center for the wonderful care and compassion they showed our mother, and also thank you to Partners Hospice in Missoula.
