Our fabulous Momma moved on to her next adventure surrounded by her loving family and beautiful sunlight on Thursday, December 7, 2023.
June Marie Turner was born on September 19, 1934 in Los Angeles, California to Evelyn and Jim Turner, and was raised alongside her big sister Janet. Growing up, June loved to play with her marbles, twirl her baton, and march in the band. As she grew, June discovered that she enjoyed playing pool, bowling, and having her own softball team. She was a gal ahead of her time. After graduating high school, June married Budd Bergman and had two children, Gary and Teri. June loved taking her kids to the beach and to television show auditions. June had fond memories of walking onto studio sets where she watched the filming with the “Rat Pack,” amongst many other broadcast productions. Life changed suddenly, and June became a single mother in the 1950’s. June was a remarkable mother. She sacrificed and prioritized the happiness of her children, and did a wonderful job raising them.
Like many women of her generation, June rapidly grew from naive to independently managing a household, raising kids, working full-time, and navigating the ebbs of life. June never stopped or gave up. She kept pushing forward day after day. June inspired people daily with her presence and her adventurous spirit, and she always had such great hair. After many years, she met Jack whom she married and had a third child Stacy.
In her later years, June discovered her love for traveling. She backpacked throughout Europe, explored the beaches of Hawaii, delighted in the Alaskan landscapes, and drove across the United States twice. June later moved to New England, Nevada, and finally settled in Montana in 2005.
June’s incredible journey as above is just the tip of the iceberg of what June accomplished in her life. She has been and will continue to be an inspiration to her children and many others who were lucky enough to meet her. Even though June is no longer with us, her memory, the sound of her laughter, the warmth of her smile, and all that she has taught us through her beautiful life, will be with us forever.
Our family would like to thank the staff at the Remington assisted living facility in Hamilton for the tireless care of their residents who become like family. You were key in her comfort, health, and safety these past two years. We would like to thank her longtime provider Dr. April Weinberger, dear friend Dr. Kate Hurlbut, and of course Kathy Dexter, FNP, DNP: ALL of whom, were instrumental in prolonging her quality of life, yet being compassionate and realistic when it was time to make the hard decisions. THANK YOU!
June is survived by her older sister Janet and family of Washington, her son Gary (Adrienne), daughter Teri (Mike and Danielle) of Nevada, and her prize Stacy (Kathy) of Montana.
