HAMILTON - Katherine Bushell, 98, of Hamilton passed away Wednesday, May 20, 2009 at the Bitterroot Valley Living Center in Stevensville. She was born March 2, 1911 in Diamond City, Alberta, Canada the daughter of George and Mary (Gusurick) Stephanick.
- Katie was raised and educated in Diamond City. She moved to Butte, MT in 1929 where she met Joseph Kylnik. They were married in Butte in 1930 and together they had 2 daughters. Joseph was killed in a mining accident in 1938. Katie married Frank Bushell in 1941 and together they had a son. Frank and Katy moved to Trout Creek in 1942. Frank passed away in 1968 and Katie moved to the Bitterroot Valley and remained here until the time of her death.
- Katie enjoyed cooking, crocheting, walking and her cats. She also enjoyed having lunch with the birthday club she belonged to. Besides her 2 husbands, Katie was also preceded in death by her daughter, Patricia Kylnik, in 1942; her granddaughter, Babette Bushell; and 11 brothers and sisters. She is survived by a daughter, Joan Allen and husband Newt of California; a son, Frank Bushell and wife Nancy of Great Falls; 10 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews.
- Private services will be held. Interment will take place at White Pine Cemetery in Trout Creek, MT. Arrangements are under the care of the Daly-Leach Chapel and condolences may be left for the family at www.dalyleachchapel.com.
