Katherine "Cappy" Grube Needles

HAMILTON - Katherine Grube Needles, 64, of Hamilton, passed away Wednesday evening, September 26, 2012, at St. Pat's Hospital in Missoula. Katherine, or Cappy, as she was fondly known, was born on July 4, 1948, to Raymond and Virginia Grube.
Cappy grew up in Hamilton and graduated from Hamilton High School in 1966. She received her business training at Kenmon Business College in Spokane Washington prior to her marriage to Cecil W. Needles of Hamilton on March 9, 1968. In 1971, the couple moved to Phoenix, Arizona where their first son, Eric David, was born. In 1974, they relocated to Aurora, Illinois, where their second son, Mitchel Allen, was born. In Illinois, Cappy worked as a secretary at Allen School in District 131 for over 20 years. She and her husband retired in 2006 and moved back to their childhood hometown of Hamilton.
Since moving back to Hamilton, Cappy was an active and giving member and Elder of the First Presbyterian Church in Hamilton, as well as the past president of PEO, Chapter BC in Hamilton.
Cappy enjoyed her book club as well as numerous activities with her church and PEO, but her most joyful pleasure was undoubtedly her four young grandchildren.
Cappy was preceded in life by her parents, Raymond and Virginia Grube, and her brother, David. She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Cecil W. Needles, her son Eric, his wife Michelle, and their children Jack and Caroline of Batavia, Illinois, her son Mitchel, his wife April, and their two children, Nathan and Celia, of Taylors, South Carolina, as well as numerous cousins, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, and nieces and nephews.
