Kathleen "Kay" D. (Dearing) Williams

December 28, 1918 — October 22, 2021

Hamilton - Kathleen “Kay” (Dearing) Williams was born on December 28, 1918, in Fort Worth, Texas.  After graduation from high school, Kay moved to Goleta, California, to attend Teachers College (now UC Santa Barbara).  There she met her future husband, Thomas L. Williams. They were married in June of 1942.

Kay worked side by side with Tom through all his endeavors which included farming, operating Cold Springs Tavern (a former stagecoach station on the San Marcos Pass), the Green Head Duck Club, first located in the Santa Ynez Valley and later relocated to Simi Valley in Ventura County, the Hilton Lakes Pack Station in the Sierras, and finally back to farming, operating “Corn Pick‘in Tom’s Vegetable and Fruit Stands” in Thousand Oaks.

When Tom and Kay retired, they moved to the southern Bitterroot Valley.  They spent their time fishing and taking many road trips to see the sights in their new home.  Tom was diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease and eventually went to Discovery Care Centre in Hamilton.  Kay moved to Hamilton to be close to Tom.  There she met many people who would become lifelong friends.

Kay was preceded in death by her parents, Edison and Alice Dearing; her husband, Tom Williams; son, Stephen Williams; sister, Billie Randall; and her granddaughter, Holly Williams.  She is survived by her sons, Tom (Mary Anne) Williams, Jr. of Prescott, AZ, Gary (Lynn) Williams of Darby, MT; brother, Edison Dearing, Jr.; grandchildren, Michael Williams, Heidi Williams, Jake (Charlene) Williams, Stephanie (Mark) Vellekamp, Chris (Sylvia) Williams; and numerous greatgrandchildren, great-greatgrandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Kay lived her final days at Discovery Care Centre, in Hamilton.  The compassionate and caring staff provided excellent care and friendship to her during her stay.  The family will be forever grateful for their kindness.

Kay was a generous donor to many causes.  Therefore, in lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to your personal favorite charity in her memory.  A Celebration of Life will be held in late Spring, 2022.
