Kathryn "Kate" Chamberlin

Hamilton - " Kathryn B. Chamberlin, 91 of Hamilton, passed away at home February 15, 2010 with family at her side.
She was born March 24, 1919 in Corbin, Montana to John and Bertha Peterson. She attended grade school in Corbin and graduated high school in Boulder.
She married John, her sweet heart of 67 years, on June 12, 1937. Together they raised two sons, John B. and Michael C.
Kate and John lived in Corbin, Jefferson City, Townsend, Darby, Missoula, and back to their treasured cabin in Darby and then to Hamilton when their health began to fade.
Kate had many interests including hunting, camping, gardening, sewing and taking many trips with John in their beloved Bitterroot Mountains.
They were hard working and devoted to each other and enjoyed many horse riding trips.
Kate was very active in the General Federation of Women's Club. She served as President of Dist. #1 M.F.W.C. and President of the Orchard Homes Women's Club. She was also a member of the National Association of Parlamentarians for M.F.W.C. and served several terms.
She was proud of the many books she taped for the blind. She also was very proud of receiving a 5 gallon pin for donating blood to the Red Cross.
She later became a late member of 21 Club, a unique Collection of Women that organized in Orchard Homes during World War II as a support group.
She is survived by her son Michael (Pat); grandchildren, Dan (Lori), Diana (Jim), Christine (Mario), Kenny, Johnny, Marty and Lori; great grandchildren, Ryan, Lauren and Johnny.
Preceding her in death is her husband, John A. , their son John B., her parents, John and Bertha Peterson, siblings Bud (Doris), Lenni Dot, Lelia (Rex), Don (Pat) and great grandson, Nicholas Scott.
Kate was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend who will be missed by countless friends of many years whose lives she graced with her special spirit.
