Kenneth "Bud" Lindquist

April 12, 1927 — August 17, 2015

Our beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend Kenneth Raymond Lindquist has rejoined his wife's awaiting embrace. Always the outdoorsman, he was ready to fish Heaven's lakes and streams and hunt its expansive woodlands. 'Bud' as most called him was born April 12, 1927 the second of nine children of Clarence and Elizabeth Pigg Lindquist. On June 2, 1947 he married his lifelong partner and friend Lillian Mae Shivel.
He enlisted in the navy at 17 years of age and was assigned to Pacific Naval air bases. He saw combat onshore at the Battle for Okinawa, as well as the Kamikazes while fulfilling his duties as a member of the navy guard on the liberty ship S.S. Seadevil.
His first son, Ronald was born March 11, 1948 followed much later by another son, Michael on April 4, 1964.
Bud's enduring love was for all things outdoors which led to a career with the United States Forest Service. He worked in numerous capacities before retiring in 1971. He and Lil spent many winters roaming the desert southwest fishing, rock-hounding and hunting. For many years during the fall, they harvested and sold Christmas trees in the Phoenix area. Football season rounded out his many interests.
Bud is survived by his sons, Ron (Linda) of Dripping Springs, TX and Michael (Kimberly) of Corvallis, MT; granddaughter, Denise (Dale) DeLoach; great grandson Zak Marshal; brothers, Leonard Lindquist, Edward (Shirley) Lindquist, James (Marci) Lindquist, and sisters, Betty (Jerry) Else, Vivian Foley, and Myrna Lindquist. He was predeceased by his wife, two sisters, Carol Sawyer and Arlene Hopkins.
