HAMILTON - Milton (Kirk) Eberhard, 82, passed peacefully at home surrounded by family on June 24th, 2025, in Hamilton, Montana.

He is survived by his wife Gloria and their four children and grandchildren.

Kirk and Gloria lived in Salmon Idaho for over 30 years. Kirk served as an Idaho fish and game conservation officer from 1966 to 2000. He was known for his honesty, integrity and his love for the outdoors.

His two true loves were his wife Gloria and fishing. He was an avid fisherman traveling the world in search of the best fish. He was a master fly fisherman, teaching fly casting classes, tying his own flies, talking for hours with fellow fly fisherman and even had two  fish ponds stocked with rainbow trout. His love of fishing started early, spending hours with a fishing pole at the age of 5. He lived his life with true passion for hunting, fishing and protecting the natural beauty and resources of Idaho.

Known affectionately by many as Capt. Kirk, he preferred the quiet solitude of the outdoors but was also known to be quite charming with a witty sense of humor

Few people can say they lived their dream life, but if asked, Kirk would say he was living his. He was fishing up to the last week of his passing. His unique character and passion for life will be missed.
