Kirk "Butch" Martindell

October 24, 1943 — August 6, 2020

CORVALLIS - Kirk (Butch) Martindell of Corvallis passed away peacefully in his sleep Thursday, August 6th, 2020, in his home. Butch was born on October 24th, 1943 in Paramount, California to Kirk and Evelyn Martindell, and was raised in his teenage years by his Uncle Arthur Monett and Aunt Lorraine Monett. Butch had two daughters with his first wife; Christina Lankford and Suzanne Cochrell, and a son and a daughter with his wife Joyce; Matthew Martindell and Jennifer Graves. Joyce and Butch were married for nearly 47 years, living both in El Cajon California, and Corvallis, Montana.

Butch started working in the aerospace industry at a young age, and was an avid machinist and welder, but his real passion was working on his 1950 Ford truck. After purchasing his truck in 1977 Butch tore apart and rebuilt it twice with everything from the engine down to installing power seats and a back up camera. His yellow truck with red and orange flames was a recognizable aspect of his life, and everyone in town knew Butch was the guy with the yellow truck.

Butch is survived by his wife Joyce of Corvallis; son Matthew and wife Erin of Oceanside, CA; three daughters, Christina Lankford and husband Donald of Porter, TX, Suzie Cochrell and husband Joe of Pahrump, NV, and Jennifer Graves and husband Marcus of Minot, ND; Sister Barbara Bellot of Huntington Beach, CA; 8 granddaughters, 3 grandsons, and 5 great grandkids.
