Hamilton - LaRoy L. Williamson, 71, of Hamilton passed away Monday, February 8, 2016 at the Marcus Daly Hospice and Palliative Care center after a courageous battle with MS. He was born April 26, 1944 to Ruby (Mills) and Loyal Williamson.

LaRoy resided in Stevensville, MT through his third grade of elementary school before moving to Hamilton where he graduated from Hamilton High School in 1962. Following his graduation LaRoy entered the US Air Force.

During his career with the USAF, he had many responsibilities ranging from aircraft electronic repair and installation and later becoming an instructor in the same field of expertise. At this time, he married Judi Sabo and to their union they had 3 children: Janell, Dawn and Robbin.

Following his military career, he returned to his hometown of Hamilton where he worked in the family business at Hamilton Motor Supply. He was also a member of the Hamilton Volunteer Fire Department. In 1977, he began his career as a long haul truck driver for nearly 15 years. In 1988, he married Carla Adams and she joined him in the trucking industry for the next 3 years.

In 1992 he owned and operated L&M Painting, later becoming LCS Enterprises until he retired due to health. During his retirement, he volunteered at a Peer Advocate for Summit Independent Living in Hamilton.   He enjoyed time with his church, family and community.

LaRoy is survived by his wife and loving caregiver Carla of Hamilton, three daughters: Janell (Greg) Mussman of Duluth, MN; Dawn Williamson of Thief River Falls, MN; and Robbin (Jim) Breiland of Thief River Falls, MN; sister, Sandy (Ken) Price of Corvallis, MT; brothers, Dennis (Ursula) Williamson of Melbourne, Australia and Don (Glenda) Williamson of Nuevo, California. Also 3 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services will be held Friday, February 12, 2016 at First Baptist Church in Hamilton at 11 am with Pastor Allen James officiating.  A reception will follow the services at the church.  Military honors will be presented by the U.S. Air Force, Hamilton American Legion and the Marine Corps League – Bitterroot Detachment.

Carla and his family are very appreciative of the loving care given to LaRoy the last few days of his life at the Marcus Daly Hospice.

The family suggests that memorials be made to the Summit Independent Living Center, 3 16 N. 3rd  St # 113, Hamilton, MT 59840.
