Leone R. Lietha, 95, of Hamilton passed away Wed., Feb. 15, 2012 at Valley View Estates where she was lovingly cared for during the past three years. She was born on Oct. 7, 1916 in Haven Township, Minnesota, the daughter of Norwegian born Thomas and Minnesota born Anna (Reynolds) Ness.
Leone was raised and educated in Minnesota. She married Louis F. Lietha on Oct. 9, 1935 in St. Cloud, MN. They left there in Dec. 1952 arriving in Hamilton where they soon bought a home on 4th street. Louis worked as an auto mechanic while Leone spent her time as a homemaker. She was also employed by the Fairway Market and later by the Commodity Center
Her greatest joy was sharing her life with her husband and being a member, since 1952, of Grace Lutheran Church where she was very involved until her health failed. Leone enjoyed the mountains, fishing, having company, bowling, baking apple pies to give away and having coffee with friends.
In June of 1973 Leone was preceded in death by her husband Louis. Also preceding her in death were her five brothers and four sisters: Leroy Ness, Arthur Ness, Elmer Ness, Robert Ness, Clifford Ness, Ivadel Neyssen, Gertrude Rossmeisl, Inez Oehrlein, Helen Caspers. She was especially close with her nephew Don Oehrlein who passed away in June of 2009. She is survived by many nieces and nephews of whom she talked of with great fondness.
