Linda June (Kamps) Curdy, 78, passed away on April 14, 2026, in Hamilton, Montana, after facing cancer with strength and courage.
Linda was born on January 8, 1948, in Dillon, Montana, to Montana Hearold “Monty” Kamps and Nancy June “June” Waldemar. She grew up in Anaconda, Montana, and graduated from Anaconda High School in 1966, where she enjoyed many friendships and excelled in music and math.
She was raised in a family that valued music, time together, and the outdoors, which stayed with her throughout her life. She cherished memories of camping with her parents and siblings, singing around the campfire, and learning to harmonize together. Music brought her joy throughout her life and was one of her greatest gifts. She loved many kinds of music and especially enjoyed listening to The Tabernacle Choir at Temple Square on Sunday mornings. Music always lifted her spirits, and she found happiness in singing, family gatherings, and being together.
On November 11, 1967, Linda married Jerald Patrick “Jerry” Richards. They were later sealed in the Idaho Falls Temple on June 20, 1986. Together, they worked hard to build a life while raising their two sons, whom they were very proud of. The family enjoyed camping and created many memories in the Montana mountains. Jerry passed away on June 4, 1991.
One of her favorite jobs was driving a school bus while her sons were in high school, where she especially enjoyed being around the youth. She had a natural love for young people and found joy in caring for, teaching, and encouraging them.
After her sons returned from their church missions, Linda followed them to Provo while they attended college and began her own studies at Utah Valley State College in 1992, where she studied business management. Over the years, she worked in bookkeeping and secretarial roles and also served as a school clerk.
On February 13, 1999, Linda married Ronald Clive “Ron” Curdy. He had eleven children, and she welcomed them as her own, helping to raise his three youngest. Together they enjoyed companionship, travel, and new experiences, visiting places she had never been before. Ron passed away on November 4, 2022.
Linda was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She loved working with children and youth, especially helping with girls’ camp. Her testimony was an important part of her life, and she found strength in the Lord through both joyful and difficult times. She believed in turning to the Lord for answers and trusted that He would always be there.
She will be remembered for her love of family, her enjoyment of music, her caring heart, her strength through life’s challenges, and her steady faith. She would want her grandchildren and great-grandchildren to know that she will always be cheering them on.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husbands. She is survived by her sons, Scott Richards (Charlotte) and David Richards (Jana), eleven stepchildren, and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, all of whom she cared for deeply. She is also survived by her brother, Monte Kamps (Jayne); her sisters, Wendy Savik (Marlen) and Julie Lee (Brad); and many nieces and nephews.
Linda will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 25, 2026, from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 401 N 8th St, Hamilton, MT. A funeral service will follow at 10:00 a.m.
Interment will take place at 3:00 pm that same day at Forestvale Cemetery, 490 Forestvale Rd, Helena, Montana. Condolences may be left for the family at www.dalyleachchapel.com.
