Linda Neyt
Died at Discovery Care Centre May 8, 2013
There are those who enter this world with a light so bright that, even after they have gone, the light still remains ... Linda Neyt was such a person. She entered this world in her parents' home in South Dakota on a cold February day in 1941. Her baby brother, Mike, arrived a few years later. Eventually her family moved west to Pendleton, Oregon. Life was good, and Linda thrived as she completed her education with assistance of the nuns and her close circle of friends. She chose Licensed Practical Nursing for her career path, and thus began her journey of care giving and affecting thousands of lives through so many years. Linda took her nursing very seriously and provided both care and compassion to every patient she was assigned. She also enjoyed providing levity during days of stress with her multitude of stories and jokes, both verbal and practical. She was an independent, benevolent spirit. She taught us by example the loyalty of friendship and of always being there for each other. Linda was a kid at heart, collecting a plethora of plush toys through the years that she frequently gave to anyone she felt needed a "buddy". She loved gathering with friends, old and new, for breakfast, lunch, or to celebrate a birthday with a special dinner. Her capacity to love was most evident by the care and affection she gave to her many dogs, especially "Josie" and "Fannie".
She leaves behind Sue Peterson of Hamilton, a long-time friend of 43 years. She also leaves her brother, Mike (Judy) Neyt of Medford, Oregon and a niece and nephew. No memorial service is planned at this time.
Farewell, dear friend ... our hearts are heavy, but your light glows brightly in our memories of you.
