DARBY - Lloyd Alva "Pudge" Abbey, 81, of Darby passed away Monday, October 11, 2010 from lung cancer at his home in Darby. He and his twin brother, Floyd, were born to Fredrick Charles and Georgia Christine (Fry) Abbey on July 12, 1929 on Boyle Creek (now Tower Creek) north of Salmon, ID.
- Lloyd was an amiable person with a distinctive laugh and he made friends wherever he went. He was a heavy equipment operator and an expert road builder. Lloyd built many roads on logging jobs in Montana and Idaho. He also worked in New Mexico and Colorado. His last few years he worked piling brush and leveling land in the Seeley Lake and Victor areas.
- Lloyd is survived by his wife Laura of Darby; his only sister, Donna Kyle and husband Bill of Darby; his children; Georgia Diane Maline and husband John of Hamilton, David Abbey Orr and wife Judy of Grantsdale, Ed Abby of Iowa, Tammy Joe Abbey Jones of Darby, Toni Gayle Abbey Davis of Tempe, AZ, Steve Joslin and wife Mitzi of Livingston, and Misty Finks and husband Kelly of Darby; 3 sisters-in-law, Irene Abbey of Huson, Norma Shafer of Darby and Paula Horton of Washington; 19 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and several very special nieces and nephews. Lloyd is also survived by a host of wonderful friends, his dog, Jeff, and his cat, Rory. He was loved very much and will be missed.
