HAMILTON - Lloyd Reesman, 75, of Corvallis passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, April 6, 2014 at the Marcus Daly Hospice Care Center. He was born August 2, 1938 in Missoula, Montana to Archie and Gwendolyn Reesman.
Lloyd graduated from the University of Montana majoring in Forestry. In 1959, he married Jill Kilian, his wife of 54 years. He began his career with the US Forest Service in 1957 on a look out, and then as a smoke jumper before serving a combined 32 years on the Helena, Bitterroot, and Flathead National Forests. Lloyd participated in establishing the boundaries for the Scapegoat Wilderness Area. He enjoyed his work and the many lasting friendships he formed over the years. He retired in 1994.
Lloyd was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed a lifetime of hiking, hunting, fishing, rafting, canoeing and swimming. "The Cabin" in Lincoln, MT was his second love... and a special place for his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Lloyd is survived by his wife, Jill Reesman, of Corvallis; daughter, Chelly Reesman (Jim Rigg) of Boise, ID; son Scott Reesman (Debbie) of Hamilton, MT; grandchildren, Lacey Hill (Keegan) of Bozeman, MT; Lou Garman (Kory) of Lolo, MT; Jameson Rigg of Boise, ID; Mikeala Reesman of Hamilton, MT; and three great-grandchildren, Avery, Harlow and Ryker.
