Lola Gertrude (Boyd) Grenfell, 89, of Hamilton, Montana passed away on February 5th, 2025, of natural causes surrounded by family and now joins her loving husband, Donald Lloyd Grenfell, in Heaven.
Lola was born on April 25th, 1935, the first child of Robert C. Boyd and Leona (Rennaker) Boyd, followed by siblings, Bud and Janice. She grew up in Hamilton, MT and enjoyed a fulfilling career at Rocky Mountain Laboratories. In 1966, she married Don, the love of her life, and became the mother to his three sons as he became the father to her four. Together, they loved and raised their wonderful family, enjoying many adventures with them, such as spending summer days at their family cabin up the West Fork.
She was a woman of many passions, a wildcard who embraced life with passion and warmth. She had a keen eye and appreciation for nature, being an avid hunter and birdwatcher. Her hands were always busy with quilting, sewing, or playing cards with her friends. She brought a special energy to every gathering, filling the room with her wit, charm, and boundless love for her family.
Lola is survived by her sister, Janice Cowles, seven sons, Douglas, James, Val, Ivan, Tim, Michael, and Darrin, along with twenty grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. In lieu of a funeral and in accordance with her wishes, a celebration of life will be held for her in the Spring.
Though she is no longer with us in body, her legacy of love lives on and she will be forever with us in spirit.
The family suggests that memorial donations be made in Lola's name to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, Emma's House or to Habitat for Humanity.
