CORVALLIS - Luanne Moore Bauman, 61, of Corvallis went to her Lord Jesus on October 10, 2016 after a battle with pancreatic cancer. She passed away with her loving husband, Steve; her son and daughter-in-law, Lucas and Toni; and other family and friends at her side.
Luanne was born in Hamilton, Montana on September 20, 1955. She grew up in Victor and graduated in 1973. She went on to college at Montana State University, but graduated from the University of Montana in June of 1978 with a degree in Secondary Education, Broad Field Science. On June 22, 1978 she married her high school sweetheart, Steve Bauman.
Luanne never worked full time, only part time, so she had time for her family and horses. Her career started at First Federal, Ravalli County Federal Credit Union, Bitterroot Restoration and at last in 1999 Victor School. Luanne was the Business Manager/District Clerk until she retired in June 2016. She loved Victor School and the challenges of her job. The students were first in her mind. Luanne was always thinking of ways to bring more to them and the teachers.
Steve and Luanne built a nice working cattle ranch together in Corvallis. Horses were always in Luanne's life. She showed her horses in High School and college. Luanne rode with the Bitterroot Mountettes and the Latigo Ladies for fifteen years. Her passion was the mountains though and the canyon rides were her church. She rode on Wednesdays with friends (The Happy Saddle Tramps) from her twenties until her death. Now Luanne is just riding the trails of Heaven with her buddies that passed before her. Pat a tree for her.
She is survived by her husband of 38 years, Steve Bauman and her son, Lucas Bauman and his wife, Toni. Her absolute joy was her granddaughters, Kennedi and Raigan. Her gift to them was her love of horses and the outdoors. Luanne is also survived by her mother, Carol Munson and step-father, Gayle Munson of Florence; sisters, Sandra Pettit of Darby and Patricia Widdifield (Albert) of Victor; niece, Monica Morlock Johnson (Todd) and grand-niece Kayla Johnson all of Florence.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, October 21, 2016 at 1:00 P.M. in the new Victor Gymnasium. There will be a pot-luck reception following the services in the old Victor Gymnasium.
