Maia Yasmiene Muscaria Shaw Kretschmer

ALBUQUERQUE, NM – Maia Yasmiene Kretschmer, 29, of Albuquerque, NM passed away August 10, 2016 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.  She was born May 6, 1987 in Albuquerque the daughter of Ron Shaw and Khephra Kretschmer-Nickerson.

Maia was raised and educated in New Mexico before moving to Hamilton in 2003 and attending the alternative school.  She was well liked, very bright and beautiful, and a shining light to everyone who knew her.  Those closest to her knew of her struggles in life and we find solace knowing that she is finally at peace and resting in the arms of Jesus.

Maia is survived by her mother, Khephra and her husband Arnold of Hamilton; her sister, Josephine Kretschmer of Hamilton; her daughter, Mya B. of Hamilton; her grandmother, Yolanda Metzgar; her aunt, Freydis Kretschmer; and cousins, Jai, Adi, Cintamani, Nandini and Nimai all of New Mexico.

Maia will be sorely missed and the world will be a different place without her beautiful spirit.  A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, August 17, 2016 at 2:00 pm at the Daly-Leach Chapel with a reception following in the funeral home’s community room.
