HAMILTON - Margaret M. (LaRoche) Siegfried, 99, of Hamilton passed away Saturday, April 20, 2013. She was born on April 16, 1914, in Lake Linden, Michigan. Margaret was the fourth of five children of Joseph H. LaRoche and Mary Pavlik LaRoche. She spent her childhood in Lake Linden. After her graduation from high school, she moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin and attended Brown's Business School.
In 1941, Margaret married Lee Siegfried. The couple settled in Milwaukee where they raised their two children. Margaret loved to sew and was always interested in fashion. Over the years, she worked as a fitter in several women's clothing stores in the Milwaukee area, retiring in 1976.
In 1988, Lee and Margaret moved to Montana to be near their daughter, Carolyn. During her early years in Bitterroot Valley, Margaret and Carolyn operated an alteration shop, Sew'n Style in Hamilton. She and Lee were members of St. Francis Parish in Hamilton. Lee died in 2004 and Margaret continued to live in the home they'd shared until 2009, when she moved to the Meadow Lark Haven Assisted Living Facility in Corvallis, Montana where she remained until her death on April 20, 2013.
Margaret is survived by her daughter, Carolyn and Carolyn's husband Dennis Jones of Stevensville, Montana; her son Robert Siegfried and his wife Paulette of Mullica Hill, New Jersey; 3 step-grandchildren, six nieces and five nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lee, her parents, her brothers Joseph, Francis and Henry, her sister Rose, 3 sisters-in-law, 2 brothers-in-Laws, a nephew and a step-granddaughter.
