HAMILTON - Margarette "Maggie" Ann Bates Oliver, 91, of Hamilton passed away Saturday, October 16, 2010 at the Marcus Daly Hospice and Palliative Care Center after a long battle with cancer. She was born December 9, 1918 in Myrtle Creek, OR the daughter of Guy and Evangeline (Dohl) Bates.
Margarette loved to play guitar and piano, write poetry and music and grow flowers. She was a talented photographer capturing beauty and humor in nature and life.
Margarette is survived by 2 granddaughters, Kimberly Hawkins of Irving, TX and Julie (Hawkins) and husband Dr. Scott Moose; 3 great-grandsons, Reid, Joshua and Tyler Moose of Nixa, MO; and many dear friends whose lives she has touched. She was preceded in death by Fred Van Blaricom on September 12, 2004.
The family suggests that memorials be made in Margarette's name to the Haven House, SAFE or the Bitterroot Humane Association.
