Margie Grace Sturgis Mitchell

DARBY - Margie Grace Mitchell, 88, of Darby went to see the Lord, her Savior, on Monday, August 24, 2015 at her home. She was born April 22, 1927 in Pollock, South Dakota the daughter of Leonard and Sara (Slater) Johnson.

Margie married Leonard Sturgis in 1941 at Wibaux, MT. They moved to Darby in 1962 and after 55 years of marriage, Leonard passed away. Margie moved back to Glendive to be with family and friends. In 2004, she married Stanley Mitchell and together they moved back to Darby.

There are few people in this world who love unconditionally and Margie was one of them. She was also a very thoughtful, sweet and generous wife, mom, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved her family dearly and would do anything for them. Margie loved the Lord and lived everyday by His word.

Margie was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Sturgis; her son, Lavern; and her daughter, Annabelle. She is survived by her husband, Stanley Mitchell of Darby; 2 sons, Kenneth (Carol) Sturgis of Glendive and Elbert (Janice) Sturgis of Alaska; her daughter, Debbie Sturgis of Darby; 3 step-daughters, Tina Mitchell, Marva Hart and Rita Skinner; 5 grandchildren, Lonnie (Tammy) Sturgis of Bozeman, Rick (Tania) Sturgis of Alaska, Cindy Koskela of Hamilton, Jason (Arlene) Sturgis of Alaska and Cole Sturgis of Glendive; and 9 great-grandchildren. Margie will be dearly missed by us all.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 29, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. at the Daly-Leach Chapel with a reception immediately following in the funeral home's community room. Burial will take place following the reception at Lone Pine Cemetery in Darby.
