Hamilton - Margo Lynn Santos, 62 was born in San Francisco August 27, 1947, she passed away of natural causes, Monday, November 16, 2009 at St. Patrick Hospital in Missoula.
She spent her first 8 years growing up with her family in Dutch Harbor, Unalaska, Alaska. Her family then moved back to the San Francisco area where Margo graduated from Albany High School in 1965. As a young girl her grandmother took her under her wing and enrolled Margo in Ballet classes in San Francisco and Ice Skating classes in Berkeley, where she skated with a little girl named Kristy Yamaguci.
Margo loved horses and her cousin Susan shared her passion for horses with Margo throughout her life.
Margo met her husband to be, Jim, in September of 1979. It took the two of them ten years before the Lord paved the road that let to their marriage on December 29, 1990. While on a motorcycle ride that let them to the Bitterroot they decided to look for property in 1991. They moved from California to Hamilton in 2002 when Jim retired and have spent an incredible 7 years here in happiness.
Still while in California, Margo took to art and passionately worked in all mediums. She drew, sculpted and poured bronze which reflected her love of the arts which she grew up around. She also loved to work in the garden.
Her number one interest was her husband, Jim. Her unselfish love for him poured out of her very soul and was an example to anyone who has ever loved another person.
Margo contracted Hodgkin's disease in 1975 and met her soul mate Judy McConaghy at Stanford, they were roommates. Because of the treatment they were given at that time Judy passed away Easter Eve of last year and now Margo has gone to be with her friend. Stanford gave them both 34 years and they both live every minute in God's grace.
Margo was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Robert.
She is survived by her husband, Jim and Cousins, Susan Gerber and Pat Butts.
The family suggests memorials to the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation of the United States.
