Marguerite Ethel Hunt

June 23, 1918 — November 13, 2012

Marguerite Ethel Hunt, 94, of Hamilton, peacefully passed away at her home Tuesday November 13, 2012. She was born June 23, 1918 in Placerville, Colorado to Martin and Ethel Ault Buker Faucett. She was raised in Placerville and graduated from High School in Steamboat Springs Colorado. The family then moved to Chloride, Arizona, a mining town. There she met Vincent Hunt. Marguerite married Vincent in Kingman, Arizona in 1935.
After the mines gave out, the couple moved to Nevada and then later to Sacramento California and then to Auburn California where Marguerite, or Peggy, as Vince called her, worked as a retail clerk for Safeway Stores. Marguerite retired from the Retail Clerks Union in 1970. In 1977, Vincent and Marguerite retired to Hamilton, where they enjoyed camping, traveling and playing cards with family and friends.
Marguerite was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 66 years, two brothers, Martin and Robert Fausett, three half-brothers, Orville, Ernie and John Buker, and son-in-law Carl Hopkin.
She is survived by her daughter Kathryn Hopkin and her son Norman Hunt, both of Hamilton; seven grandchildren, four great grandchildren and three great, great grandchildren, and her faithful canine companion, Reno.
Marguerite will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
The family would like to thank Nita Ruiz and Beverly Peterson for their devotion and loving care of Marguerite during her last few months.
No service is planned at this time. A private family memorial will be held at a later date.
