VICTOR - Marilyn Rae (Marki) Jacobs of Victor, MT passed away unexpectedly at home on April 12, 2014. She was born on September 23, 1952 in Williston N.D. to Raymond and Ruth Meadows. Both preceded her in death.
She graduated from Stevensville High School in 1970 and married Bruce Bash a year later. They later divorced. Marki worked on Rocky Point and Beaver Ridge as a fire lookout on the Powell Ranger District, Clearwater National Forest in Idaho. She loved nature and wildlife and Beaver Ridge became one of her favorite places. Marki became an avid photographer of wildlife and mountain scenery.
She met Carl Jacobs, a forester at the station, and they married in 1977. They later lived in St. Mary's, Idaho and at the Sula Ranger District in Montana. They later divorced but remained very special friends. Marki later returned to the Powell District where she returned to Beaver Ridge as lookout and later worked as a resource assistant at the station.
She is survived by and will be greatly missed by brother, Ken Meadows and wife Cheryl; and several nieces and nephews of Portland, OR, as well as her special friend, Carl Jacobs; and friend Bill Sager.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
