Marjorie Patricia (Donovan) Jensen

March 17, 1927 — April 22, 2016

Marjorie Patricia Jensen, 89, went to Heaven to be with her Father on April 22, 2016.

Marge was born in Cherokee, Iowa on St. Patty's Day, March 17th, 1927 to Douglas and Ethyl Davis Donovan and an older sister, Dorothy.

At the age of 23, Marge met her first husband, Joseph Meredith, on a Greyhound bus and two weeks later were married.  She had two step-daughters with Joe, Sonny and Susan, and three natural children, Amoret Ruggeri of Chambersburg, Pennsylvania, Debi Meredith of Hamilton, Montana and Joseph Meredith of Chico, California.

Joe passed away in 1965, leaving Marge a widow with three small children.  She moved her family to California to be closer to her sister, where she worked three jobs, doing whatever it took to make ends meet.

In 1973 or '4 she met the love of her life, Marshall Jensen.  They married on August 31st, 1974 in a double wedding with her daughter, Amoret and her husband, Jackie Robinson.  Less than an hour later Marge and Marsh were instant grandparents when their first grandchild Terra was born.  Marsh had four children when they were wed, Sara, Karl, Lisa and Jennifer.

The couple lived in Chico, California, riding motorcycles, helping raise grandchildren and loving life until 1991, when they decided on a whim to pick up and move to Hamilton, Montana, where Marsh was a smokejumper back in the 1940s.  They brought along Marge's mother, Ethyl, and their daughter Debi decided to make the move with them, and they bought houses less than a mile apart from each other.

In 1996, at the age of 96, Ethyl passed away, and unfortunately, Marsh developed Lou Gehrig's Disease in 1995 and passed away in 1997, leaving Marge a widow for the second time.

She had an amazing group of friends in Montana, who helped her develop her passion for quilting, which anyone who knew Marge knows she was a master quilter, making numerous breathtaking quilts and table runners for anyone and everyone, including Hospice.

Marge spent the next 19 years of her life living life to its fullest, spending lots of time with family and friends, making beautiful pieces of art in her quilting, and spreading joy in her magnificent smile to anyone lucky enough to earn it.

Marge lived a rich, full life and passed away at the ripe old age of 89.  She was preceded in death by her mother and father, her sister Dorothy, and two husbands.  She is survived by her three children, Amoret Ruggeri, Debi Meredith and Joseph Meredith.  Grandchildren, which include Debi's daughter, Terra Rohlfs of Hamilton, Montana.  Amoret's daughters, Heather Drachbar of Tampa, Florida and Michelle Robinson of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.  Joe's children, Kimberly, Mikayla, Joey and Damien, all of Chico, California, and oodles of great-grandchildren.

The family would like to thank all the folks at Sapphire Lutheran Homes for the wonderful care they gave Marge the last couple of years, and the doctors, nurses, CNAs, and staff at Marcus Daly Memorial Hospital and Hospice for filling her final days with love and comfort.

The family suggests memorials to Marcus Daly Hospice Center.
