CORVALLIS - Marlene K. Ober, 74, of Corvallis, passed away peacefully on Sunday, Nov. 23, 2025, in her home in Corvallis, Montana. She was born on May 21st, 1951, in Galesburg, Illinois, the daughter of Harriet Bringer and Charles Suesens.

Marlene was raised in Galesburg and graduated from Richwoods High School in 1964, where she was known for her accomplishments as a swimmer. She pursued her master’s degree in psychology and a minor in Art at Illinois State University, where she graduated in 1968. She had her only daughter, Tiffany, in 1976 and moved to Arizona in 1980. Marlene worked as an artist, an equestrian trainer, and a dog groomer. She met the love of her life, Richard Ober, in 1990 in Arizona, and shortly thereafter left for Washington, where they married on March 27th, 1991. During their year in Washington, she ran a 4-H group in Ocean Park. The family moved to Corvallis, Montana, in 1992. Marlene was involved in equestrian training, ceramics, photography, artistry, and served as a secretary for her and Rich’s landscaping business. Marlene spent her latter years raising her three grandkids and holding the family together. She enjoyed her family, baking, her pets, and gardening.

Marlene is survived by her husband, Richard of Corvallis, her daughter, Tiffany of Missoula, and her three grandkids, Sean, Victoria, and Stephanie Stone.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 29, 2025, at the Daly-Leach Chapel in Hamilton.
