Martha Louise (Stager) Peterson

HAMILTON – Martha Louise (Stager) Peterson, 83, of Hamilton passed away Friday, February 12, 2016 at Valley View Estates of natural causes.  She was born August 24, 1932 in Gresham, OR the daughter of Fred and Margaret (Anderegg) Stager.

Martha attended school in Gresham and graduated from Rose Park High School in 1950.  She worked at Nabisco for 4 years where she worked with Mildred (Jernes) Peterson.  Through Mildred, Martha met Gene V. Peterson in 1955 and they were married on October 20, 1956 in Portland, OR.  Martha and Gene came to farm and ranch in Corvallis where they raised their 4 children.

Martha enjoyed the Canasta Club, the Corvallis Grange, the Hamilton Senior Center and the Garden Club for many years.

Martha was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Freddie; her sister, Margaret Adams; her son, Mike; and her husband, Gene.  She is survived by her sister, Dorothy Moore of Portland; her son, Mark and his wife Sylvia of Corvallis; her son, Robert of Cut Bank; her daughter, Susan and her husband Mike Strachan of Coos Bay, OR; her grandson, Garrett of Great Falls; her granddaughter, Emma of Corvallis; as well as numerous nieces and nephews of Oregon and Colorado.
