Mary Louise Dailey, 95 of Victor passed away August 4th at her home.
She was born July 21, 1918 in Evanston, Wyoming the 4th of 7 daughters born to Charles and Iola J. Helm Gordon. She attended South High School in Salt Lake City, Utah.
She married Floyd Joseph Dailey on May 29, 1939 in Salt Lake City, Utah where the couple raised their family.
Louise was an excellent seamstress and started her own business, Louise's Draperies. After Floyd passed, Louise decided to move to Victor, Montana to be near her 5 sisters. They were all widowed, and they called themselves "The Tuff Ole Gordon Girls!" Louise again started building her business of sewing draperies, slip covers, valences and pillows for people throughout all of Ravalli County and Missoula.
Louise was also instrumental in helping to bring the train depot to Victor when the Victor Heritage Museum was established. She made BBQ Beef Sandwiches for many years, selling them in the Victor Heritage Food Wagon; this was the Museum's main fund raiser. Louise was the Grand Marshall of the Chief Victor Days in 2001.
Our thanks go to Louise's niece, Rexine and her husband John Hennies of Missoula for their care and help with Louise. A very special thanks goes to Katherine, who moved to Victor to care for her mother for 13 years. Because Katherine was with Louise, she was able to live in her own home until her passing at the age of 95.
She was preceded in death by her husband Floyd Joseph Dailey.
Surviving include her daughter, Katherine Green of Victor; son, Butch (Sherrilyn) Dailey of West Jordon, UT; niece, Rexine (John) Hennies of Missoula, MT; 5 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
No public services are scheduled.
