Mary Kay Evans

Hamilton - Mary Kay Evans, 82, of Hamilton left to be with the Lord on September 25, 2009. She died peacefully at home of natural causes.

Our loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and great-grandmother was born in Guymon, Oklahoma April 23, 1927 to Lester and Velma Evans.

Raised in a military family, Mary Kay spent her early years living in several places before marrying Jack Evans in Liberal, Kansas December 21, 1945.

The family began ranch life, at the Hitch Ranch in Guymon, OK. They ranched in New Mexico before settling on the Evans family ranch in Hamilton in 1963. Mary Kay devoted her life to raising her sons and creating the family home. She will be remembered for her pioneering spirit while always supporting Jack and the children. Her family always came first.

Daly reading of devotionals, scripture and prayer were also a very important part of her life.

In addition to being a devoted member of the United Methodist-American Baptist Federated Church for 45 years, she was a member of the Hamilton Cowbells and could be found cooking at the county fair with the Rocky Mountain Grange. Mary Kay loved being with her friends, shopping and enjoyed time spent with friends in the "birthday club". She was a volunteer at Haven House and was an avid supporter of the sports activities of her sons, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband Jack, sons Chris (Sue), Jay (Becky) and Bryan; grandchildren Jake, Jesse, Kelly, Angela, Kiffany, Heather and Paydn and eight great grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, Mike Evans (Christine) of Reno, NV and many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to the Hamilton High School Art Program, in the name of Mary Kay Evans, 327 Fairgrounds Rd., Hamilton, MT 59840.
