Mary Stedmond Ledford Mote

Mary Stedman Ledford Mote went to the arms of her Savior on July 25, 2016 in Falcon, Colorado.

She was born November 16, 1936 in Columbus, Ohio to Davis Emmett Ledford and Helen (Palmer) Ledford. She graduated from Walnut Hills High School in Cincinnati, Ohio and attended the University of Cincinnati and Texas Tech University, studying geology. She married William Damon (Bill) Mote of Dayton, Ohio, July 2, 1959, in Abilene, Texas. From 1961 until 1999, they lived in Lakewood, Colorado, where Mary was a homemaker, teacher, and librarian at Silver State Baptist School. In the 1970s, she earned a bachelor's degree in history from the University of Colorado (Denver). In 1999, she and Bill moved to Corvallis, Montana.
Widowed in 2003, Mary has lived in the Colorado Springs area since 2008.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brother Stanage B. Ledford of Cincinnati, Ohio; sister Lucy Costello of Cincinnati, Ohio; and one great-grandchild.

She is survived by brother William E. (Bill) Watkins of Cincinnati, Ohio; sister Louise Bowling of Houston, Texas; five children: William Victor Mote (Darla Vette), Mary Bronwyn Anglea (Dean), Lucy Browning Tschappler (Thomas), Thomas Ledford Mote (Lia Vionis), and Alice Stanage Mote; 20 grandchildren; and 9 great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be held at Cornerstone Bible Church in Hamilton, Montana on August 6 at 2:00, followed by burial at the Corvallis cemetery. A memorial service will also be held at Monument Hill Church in Monument, Colorado, August 13 at 2:00.
