Mary Edna (Irwin) Pappas passed away peacefully on August 11, 2009 in her home in Victor, MT after a short and brave battle with cancer. Mary's 75 years on this earth were spent serving her Savior and now she joyfully returns home to her Heavenly Father. Mary was born January 16, 1934 in Reading, Pennsylvania to Allen Brown Irwin and Mary Elizabeth Witwer. She married Leonard Martin Brown on September 9, 1954. After losing Leonard in 1957, Mary became a young widow with a daughter. In 1964 she fell in love with Jerry Pappas and they were married on August 9, 1964. They began their life together in Birdsboro, PA with their; "his, hers, and ours family" and later they would move to the Bitterroot Valley in Montana. Mary touched people's lives for the eternities. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She loved the Gospel and lived her life as a reflection of Christ. Mary will always be remembered for her wonderful lessons, visual aides, special teaching moments, and her testimony of the Gospel. Serving a full time mission in the Billings Temple was a treasured highlight of her life. She leaves a legacy of devotion to her family, service to others, and a strong testimony of her Savior. She will be greatly missed but never forgotten. This beloved wife and mother was preceded in death by her daughter Carol (Ben) Smith and is survived by her husband Jerry Pappas, son David (Pam) Pappas, daughters; Darlene (Larry) Becknell, Irene (Brian) Craft, Diane (Steve) Slade, and Sandy (Quinn) Kirkland.
