Maureen K. Fleming, 96 died peacefully July 25, 2011 in Corvallis, MT.
- She was born to Joseph O'Neill and Mary Ann Derham O'Neill in Seattle, WA October 21, 1914.
- Growing up on a farm of many acres in Colby, WA; she and her six siblings enjoyed many outdoor activities. She attended West Seattle HS where she and her sister, Josephine, played on the girl's field hockey team.
- She married C. Louis Fleming on February 15, 1937 and left for Plainview, TX, for the first of many jobs around the U.S. in his business career -- New York, Texas, Ohio and Washington. Their last transfer was to Upper Peninsula Power Company in Houghton, Michigan.
- Maureen was a devoted wife and mother of three daughters. She took great pride in her home and personally crafted items that added charm. She enjoyed bridge clubs and volunteered at the local hospital. She enjoyed many things in life -- dancing, baking, gardening, golfing, swimming, bridge and gin rummy.
- She encouraged her daughters to study hard and develop interests in sports and music. Maureen is survived by her three daughters, Jo Marie (Joseph) Uhlman, Olympia, WA., Lou Anne (Chuck) Lucchesi, Dollar Bay, MI., and Bette Adkins, Corvallis, MT; three granddaughters, Teresa Uhlman, Yelm, WA., Katy (Eric) Atwell, Battle Ground, WA and Susan Lucchesi, Calgary Canada.
- Maureen was preceded in death by her husband, Lou Fleming in 1993, her grandson, Anthony Lucchesi in 2010, her parents and six siblings.
- In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Maureen's favorite charity, Saint Jude's Hospital, P.O. Box 50, Memphis, TN 38101. She had been contributing to them for years and had a great interest in the children treated successfully that returned to work there.
