Max Herman Blodgett
(December 27, 1928 - August 11, 2021).
He was born in Hamilton, Montana. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He excelled in athletics and was an accomplished boxer.
He married Delores and raised two sons, Max and Robin, and a daughter Maxine. Max became an educator serving the community as a teacher, coach, principal, and Superintendent of Schools. As a basketball coach, he notably led the 1962 Corvallis High School varsity basketball team to a state championship. He later married Patti and adopted her daughter Bobi.
Max was an avid outdoorsman and loved to fly fish. He enjoyed playing his guitar and listening to country western music. He enjoyed years of worship as a member of First Baptist Church in Polson.
He is survived by his brother Ed Blodgett; son Max W. Blodgett; and daughters Maxine Closser and Bobi Blodgett. He is also survived by his 6 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. His final resting place will be Blodgett Cemetery in Hamilton, Montana.
