Maxine Clark Johnson

Maxine Clark Johnson, 91 of Hamilton passed away Sunday, March 6, 2016 at her residence in Hamilton.

Maxine was born February 28, 1925 in Powell, Wyoming the daughter of the late Verne and Ora Plummer Clark.   In 1926, the family moved to the Clearwater Ranch in the Blackfoot Valley and in 1936, the moved to the Power area.  She graduated from Power High School in 1943.  Maxine worked for a sign company in Provo, Utah for a while prior to marrying Harold “Harry” Johnson on April 14, 1946.  The couple farmed for 22 years on the Fairfield Bench.

Maxine was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Fairfield.  She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and the Eagles Lodge in Hamilton.  She loved sports, especially bowling.  She enjoyed reading, jigsaw and crossword puzzles, sewing, gardening and fishing.

She was preceded in death by her husband Harry and a brother, Dexter Clark.

Surviving include her daughters, Myrna Clawson of Hamilton and Colleen Cook of Corvallis; son, Harlan Johnson of White Sulpher Springs; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, March 10th at the Daly-Leach Chapel in Hamilton with Pastor Brenda Satrum officiating.  Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, March 11th at Sunset Hills Cemetery in Fairfield.
