Hamilton - Maxine Sconyers, 96, of Hamilton, passed away at her home Saturday April 17, 2010. -
Maxine was born January 31, 1914 in Holdenvilla, Oklahoma to Charles (Jack) and LaEuna (Hiner) Bowles. Maxine (Dusty) was married to Haskel (Sam) Sconyers for 61 years. They lived in San Diego area for approximately 33 years until moving to Darby. They remodeled, owned and operated the Darby Laundromat before moving to Hamilton and building their home on Grantsdale Road.
Maxine was a member of Silver Cresent Rebekah Lodge No. 44 of Darby, Montana; a sister of Poinsettia Chapter No. 287 Order of Eastern Star of Oceanside, California; a member of Vamoosa Baptist Church of Konawa, Oklahoma.
She was preceded in death by her husband Haskel Sconyers; her parents; sister Alice Cauzza; 4 brothers Hoyle, Booze, Rod and Pete Bowles.
Surviving include: nephew Zeb Bowles; nieces Bobbi Metheny, Peggy Casey, Patricia Ingalls and Nova Berry. She also has many special great and great-great nieces and nephews. In addition to being their Aunt, Maxine performed an "addition role as Mother/Grandmother" for Nova Berry, Marlin Ostrander, Elmo Ostrander and Marlin Ostrander Jr. from their birth to her passing.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests a gift of remembrance to Marcus Daly Hospice.
