Michael Gene Peterson

MISSOULA - Michael Gene Peterson, 48, of Missoula passed away Monday, November 16, 2009 at St. Patrick Hospital in Missoula. He was born September 23, 1961 in Hamilton the son of Gene and Martha (Stager) Peterson.

Mike attended school in Corvallis and graduated from Corvallis High School in 1981. He then enlisted into the US Air Force and served until his honorable discharge in 1988. Mike was stationed in England, Oklahoma, Honduras, Greece and California. After his discharge, Mike returned to Corvallis and did various jobs until he started working for the Missoula Senior Citizens Center in 1994. Mike was forced to, due to his health, to quit the senior center after several years.

He enjoyed collecting CD's and listening to music. The greatest enjoyment was walking. Mike will be remembered for his arid sense of humor and big smile. He will be missed.

Mike is survived by his father, Gene Peterson of Hamilton; his mother, Martha Peterson of Hamilton; 2 brothers, Mark Peterson and wife Sylvia and their 2 children, Garrett and Emma all of Corvallis and Robert Peterson of Prairie City, OR; his sister, Susan Strachan and husband Michael of Coos Bay, OR; his aunts, Dorothy Moore of Milwaukee, OR, Margaret Adams of Portland, OR and Frieda Philips and husband Bob of Spring Valley, CA; and numerous cousins and other relatives.
