Mildred A. Brownlee

HAMILTON - Mildred A. Brownlee, 93, of Hamilton passed away Sunday, December 26, 2010 at her home. She was born November 10, 1917 in Deer Creek, MN the daughter of Robert and Minnie (Motley) Adrain.
Mildred was raised and educated in Circle and graduated from Circle High School. She then attended Northern Montana College in Havre. Mildred married E.G. Brownlee in Circle on August 29, 1941 and they later divorced in 1968.
Mildred was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and sang in the choir since 1942. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star since 1942 and also served as a grand officer. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, the Soroptimist, the Eagles Auxiliary, and the Republicans Club. Mildred loved to sew, knit and crochet. She also loved to travel in her van around the United States and hike in the mountains.
Her greatest enjoyment was music, entertaining around the Bitterroot Valley since 1942. She sang at numerous weddings, funerals and musical programs. She sang her last solo on Christmas Eve 2 days before her passing.
Mildred was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Douglas Brownlee; her brothers, Lloyd and James Adrain; and her sister, Adria Adrian. She is survived by her daughter, Gayle Celeste of Racine, WI; her grandchildren, Chance Celeste of Sturtevant, WI, Andrew Celeste of Chandler, AZ and Elizabeth Celeste of Racine, WI, Natalie Paulus and husband Don of Great Falls and Raquel Thompson and husband Michael of Colorado; her sister-in-law, Ruth Adrain of Mill Valley, CA and 3 great-grandchildren.
