Molly Amy Mcelroy

March 15, 1932 — March 4, 2014

HAMILTON - Molly Amy McElroy a longtime resident of Hamilton, went home to be with her Lord March 4, 2014. Her parents, Grace and Irvin Masters, were from central Indiana and met at a Prohibition rally. She had an older sister, Georgiana, and a younger brother, Clarke. She loved the time she spent with her family and relatives in Indiana; her brother taught her to drive a car around the farm when she was 8 years old. Eventually the family settled in Glendale, California. She graduated from Westmont College, was married for fourteen years and had 3 children, Jim, Dan and Melinda. She subsequently married Edwin H. McElroy, a childhood friend of her brother, and gained 3 stepsons, Tim, Thom and Brent.

Molly held a MA from the University of Oregon and was an elementary school teacher, a children's book author, and an editor for a Christian publishing company. She and Ed were happily married for 42 years, until his death in 2012. They worked hard as a team to build and beautify the many homes they lived in over the years in California, Washington and Montana. She was a willing painter, wallpaper hanger, and landscaper; she always worked to create a nice home. They went on many church missions renovating buildings in other countries, including Hungary, Czech Republic, and Brazil, and traveled extensively to such places as Ireland, Scotland, England, Hawaii, New Zealand, and Alaska. She and Ed were members of Corvallis Community Church.

Molly is survived by her 6 children, many grandchildren, and her brother.
