Neacko Pedersen Smith

Neacko Salvadore Pedersen Smith 19 of Darby was born on March 21, 1994 to Sandra Pedersen in Lewiston, Id. He passed away January 9, 2014 in an early morning accident.

Sandra gave custody of Neacko to Anita Smith and Anita brought him home. Neacko was raised in Darby by Anita Smith, whom he always knew as Mom. From an early age, he loved sports. As soon as he started kindergarten, he started wrestling. It quickly became evident that he excelled at wrestling. In junior high school he found a new love, football. Due to injuries sustained during playing he was unable to play football or wrestle his senior year. He graduated from high school in Darby in 2012.

Neacko was a beloved son, grandson, brother, uncle and friend to his family and friends. He took his nephews to the gym and set them up on training programs to develop muscle mass and strength. His friends knew him as a loyal and trusted friend. He had several friendships that lasted him all through school. Around his family, Neacko was known for his beautiful smile, quick wit and willingness to help with whatever chore was needed.

God decided to open a gym in Heaven. He needed Neacko to whip the angels in to shape. With his sense of humor and encouragement, Heaven will be a happier, slimmer place. We all know the name of our guardian angel, Neacko.

Neacko had many aspirations in life. He was enrolled at University of Montana and was going to start classes this spring. He wanted to help others. Vacillating between being a doctor, probation officer or psychologist, Neacko was excited. Now, he is helping others in a different way. He was an organ donor. Our loss will save many lives. Neacko will live on through the lives he saves.

Neacko is survived by his mother, Anita Smith of Darby; birth mother, Sandra Pedersen of Spokane; sisters, Lori Smith of Darby, Lisa Smith of Darby, Radonda Cunningham of Missoula, Rebecca McDaniels of Oregon, Neena Hellickson of Lewiston, Id, Mereacca Pedersen of Spokane, Latisha Smith of Darby; brother, Tyler Pedersen of Spokane. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, and friends, lifelong and new.

The family suggests that memorials be made to Darby Students Athletics.
