Noreen Gayle Sorenson

Hamilton – Noreen Sorenson, 71 of Hamilton passed away Thursday, December 3, 2015 at the Marcus Daly Memorial Hospice Center in Hamilton.

She was born November 10, 1944 in Minot, ND to the late Norman C. and Cora Ina Halverson Sorenson.  She spent her first eight years by Van Hook, ND prior to moving with her family to the Bitterroot Valley in 1953.  Noreen graduated in the Hamilton High School class of 1962.  Shortly after graduation, Noreen worked for the telephone company.  She married Bryon Grenfell and the couple had two sons, Brad (67) and Randy (69).  She worked at St. Patrick Hospital until 1977 and then moved back to Hamilton and worked at Marcus Daly Memorial Hospital for many years.  Noreen then went to work at the Post Office and retired early to spend time with her family and spoil her cats.

She was involved with the Bitterroot Dusters, knitting, and enjoyed spending time with friends.  She worked hard her entire life.

Surviving include her sons, Randy (Sandy) Grenfell and Brad Grenfell; grandchildren, Zack and Cora; sister, Monica (Brian) Sutherland; sister-in-law, Shirley Sorenson; niece, Angie Sorenson; nephews, Pat Sutherland, Dan (Sarah) Sutherland, Alen Sutherland, Scott Sorenson,  Justin (Janine) Sorenson; ex-husband, Bryon Grenfell.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, December 12th at the Daly-Leach Chapel in Hamilton with Pastor Brenda Satrum officiating.  Private family urn placement will take place at a later date.
