Obert Clayton Tulberg

August 12, 1926 — February 28, 2010

HAMILTON - Obert Clayton Tulberg, 83, of Hamilton, passed away, of complications from surgery, on the evening of Sunday, February 28, 2010, at the Marcus Daly Hospice and Palliative Care Center. He was lovingly surrounded by his family. Obert was born August 12, 1926 in Williston, North Dakota, son of the late Walter and Myrtle Tulberg. He was raised in Bainville, Montana where he attended school. Obert left school to serve in the U.S. Army, during the Korean War, as a jeep driver. In 1955, he married Cecelia Peterson and made his home in Bainville working as a section foreman for the Great Northern Railroad and a clerk for the Bainville Schools. In 1979 he transferred to Hamilton, Montana where he continued working for the railroad until he retired.

Obert enjoyed tinkering in his garage, walking his beloved dog, Chi-Chi, camping, fishing, hunting, and riding motorcycles. He loved to visit Glacier Park whenever he could and spent many summers on and around Bowman Lake.

Obert is survived by his wife of 54 years, Cecelia Tulberg of Hamilton; a daughter Susan Rutledge and her husband Robert, of Lewistown, Montana; son Marvin Tulberg and his wife Lee of Richland, Washington; son Roger Tulberg and his wife Tammy of Missoula; six grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, one brother, two sisters, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Myrtle, and sister Mildora.

The family wishes to express their appreciation to the Marcus Daly nursing staff and the Marcus Daly Hospice for the care provided during Obert's final days. The family suggests memorials be sent to MDM Hospice, 1200 Westwood Dr., Hamilton, MT 59840.

Daly-Leach Chapel is in charge of the cremation arrangements.
