HAMILTON, MT - Memorial services will be held for Pamela Sue Johnson, who passed away on February 12, 2009 at her home after a courageous battle with breast cancer. She was 63 years young.
Pam was born on September 2, 1945 in Oshkosh, Wisconsin- the youngest child of Edwin and Lillian Reitz. At the age of three she moved with her family to Wenatchee, Washington where she was raised.
She graduated from Washington State University in 1967 with a B.A. in Elementary Education. While attending Wazzu, she met the love of her life, Ron Johnson, whom she married on July 8, 1967. The couple went on to have two daughters.
Pam and Ron loved to travel the world. She was a natural born teacher and taught 6th grade at Big Valley Christian School in Modesto, CA for 16 years where she was able to blend two of her greatest passions: her everlasting faith in God and teaching. Pam was also passionate about Cougar football and loved spending Monday nights with Ron watching the NFL. She was an active member of PEO and longtime "supporter" of Starbucks Coffee.
Pam was a quintessential lady with a sincere smile and exuberant laugh that those who knew her will never forget.
She is survived by her husband of nearly 42 years, Ron Johnson of Hamilton, Montana; daughters Annika (Brad) Walker, also of Hamilton, and Kimberly Johnson of Berkeley, California; brothers Don Reitz of Eugene, Oregon and Norman Reitz of Puyallup, Washington.
