Conner - Pastor Thomas H. McCall, 63, of Conner passed away Wednesday, November 4, 2009 at St. Patrick Hospital in Missoula. He was born October 9, 1946 in Abbeville, LA the son of Harley and Alberta (DeHart) McCall.
Tom was raised and educated in Abbeville and Lake Charles, LA, graduating from high school in 1964. He then attended the Bible Missionary Institute in Rock Island, ILL, graduating in 1968. Tom married Carol Keithley on August 21, 1967 in Duncan, OK. He pastored churches for 42 years in Durango, CO, Rock Island, ILL, Chattanooga, TN, Cape Girardeau, MO, Kennewick, WA, Nampa, ID, Medicine Rocks, MT and Conner, MT.
Tom loved reading, studying the Bible and the outdoors, especially hunting, horseback riding and four wheeling. His greatest enjoyment was his grandchildren. He was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather. Tom was a champion of the underdog, a loyal friend and a spiritual giant. He will be remembered for his gentle spirit and his hearty laugh, both of which touched so many.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Carol, of Conner; 4 children, Deborah Black and husband Rod of Nampa, ID, Tom McCall Jr. and wife Jenny of Kenoshah, WI, Julie French and husband Robb of Boise, ID and Krystal Yount and husband Jeff of Middleburg, PA; 17 grandchildren, Tyler and Brody Black, Cole, Josiah, Madelyn and Isaac McCall, Lauren, Drew, Jayce, Tucker, Preston and Claire French, and Rebecca, Jeffrey, Graham, Grant and Lane Yount; 2 brothers, Darryl McCall of Burley, ID and Barry McCall and wife Karen of Lake Charles, LA; and 1 sister, Jacqueline Hunt and husband Steve of Robeline, LA.
The family suggests in lieu of flowers that memorials be made in Pastor Tom's name to the Conner Wesleyan Church Building Fund, 4674 Highway 93 S., Darby, MT 59829.
