Patricia (Pat) Faye Perry, 81, died Thursday, January 19, 2017 at Marcus Daly Hospital. She was born January 28, 1935 in Hamilton, Montana.
She was the fourth child of George Arthur Riley and Theresa Margaret (McGuire) Riley. She graduated from Corvallis High School in 1953 and attended the University of Montana for a short time.
She married Earl Perry at the Corvallis Community Church on October 17, 1954. They lived in Darby until moving to Santa Clara, California in 1957. In June of 19167 they moved back to the Bitterroot – their favorite place on earth.
Pat worked at Ham-Mont Eggs as a Candler, Bitterroot Laundry as a presser, and at the Ravalli County sheriff's Office as a dispatched. After retiring from the Sheriff's office she helped Earl with their business, Perry Wood Floors.
Pat loved to knit, crochet, paint and draw, she was an accomplished seamstress making formals, clothing, and even doll clothes. She loved to write stories and poems. She also wrote for the Ravalli Republic occasionally. She was published in several magazines and self-published a book of short stories and poems.
She was a member of VFW Auxiliary Post #1430 in Hamilton and Naomi Chapter #19, Order of the Eastern Star, Victor. She is a Past Matron of Corvallis Chapter prior to its merging with Naomi #19. She was on the Corvallis Rainbow Board for a number of years and was awarded the Grand Cross of Color. She is a member of the Corvallis Methodist Church and was a lay minister for the church for a while.
Preceding her in death were her husband, Earl Perry; her parents, George & Theresa Riley, siblings: George (Rolly) Riley, Ellen Schilke, Jack Riley and Roy Riley; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Pete and Ivy Perry; Sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Donna (Perry) and Don Clary and grandson, Zane Perry.
She is survived by her children, Theresa (Tess) & Chuck Kent of Burien WA; Roy & Tristien Perry of Victor MT; and Holly Perry, Corvallis MT. Grandchildren: Bryan & Brenda Holler of Savannah, GA; Jennifer Kent, Kent, WA; Amanda Holler and Bud Degele of Corvallis MT, Corey & Kim Kent of SeaTac, WA; Perry Kent and Ashley Schalow of Burien WA; Suncee Perry, Independence OR; Moriah and Ryan Perry of Victor, MT. She is also survived by her sister, Cecilia Ohl, of Hamilton and sister-in-law, Daisy (Perry) Ward of Renton WA. Great-Grandchildren: Carter & Hazel Kent of SeaTac WA; Dalton Holler of Savannah GA; and Annajean Degele of Corvallis MT as well as many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Saturday morning 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 pm. with services following at Daly-Leach Chapel, Hamilton MT on her birthday, Saturday, January 28th at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Debra Wacker providing the service and Naomi Chapter OES performing the OES funeral service. Graveside service will follow at Corvallis Cemetery. A reception will follow the interment at Corvallis Methodist Church.
Pallbearers: Son, Roy Perry; Grandson, Corey Kent; Nephews, Mike Perry and John Raudsep; borrowed sons, Bruce Gaul and Scott Hackett.
