Patricia A. Kasel

June 12, 1935 — January 11, 2025

Corvallis

Patricia Ann Kasel was born June 12th, 1935 in Cleveland, Ohio to Elizabeth and William Collins. She was the oldest of 5 children. Pat married her high school sweetheart, Joseph Kasel in 1956 and they got busy having Irish triplets - Beth, Stephanie and Jeff and then a whoopsie 12 years later, Marianne.

From the moment they were married, Pat and Joe moved quite a bit (approximately every 2 years) between Medina, Ohio, Naples, Florida and the Bitterroot Valley, Montana. On one Ohio winter, Joe travelled with his brother-in-law and father-in-law to Naples, Florida. He and Bill (the brother-in-law) promptly called their wives and told them to pack up the kids and that they were all moving to Southern Florida. Six kids, some still in diapers, and 2 moms packed up the station wagon and drove south. Pat thought she had died and went to heaven. She went from snow boots to flip flops, threw her kids in a wagon and went to the beach every day. Naples is also where she found her passion for tennis that followed her to Montana. They finally settled down in 1994. For 25 years they lived up Skalkaho in Hamilton, Montana where Joe remodeled old potato cellars into apartments.

Pat had many jobs throughout her life from a switchboard operator to cleaning glassware at Rocky Mountain Laboratories. Somewhere in the middle of it all, Pat and Joe, with the help of family, even built and rented apartments in Naples and owned several businesses in Hamilton - The Ravalli Motel, The Roaring Lion Restaurant, and the Rendezvous Supper Club. Life was always an adventure.

Pat was preceded in death by the love of her life Joe, her eldest daughter Beth, sister Kathy Lieberth, and brothers Bill and Mike Collins.

She is survived by her daughters Stephanie Kasel and Marianne Holmes, son Jeff Kasel, youngest brother Chris Collins, grandchildren Lisa, Jessica, Nicole, Jeffery, Abigail, Oliver and Charlie (she’s a girl) and numerous great grandchildren - 11 to be exact, we think. Oh, and 2 great-great grandchildren.

Pat will be missed, but she is finally reuniting with her husband. He’s been waiting patiently. 06/12/1935 -1/11/2025.
