Patricia S. Pennell, 68, died Friday with her family by her side at her home in Victor, Montana after a long battle with cancer. A reception in celebration of her life will be held on Tuesday, September 25th, at the Daly Mansion in Hamilton, Montana between 1:30 - 3:30 p.m. A memorial service will be held at Calvary Baptist Church of Denver, Colorado on October 20th at 1:00 p.m.

Pat was born on December 25, 1943 in El Reno, Oklahoma, and moved to Denver, Colorado with her family where she attended East High School. She continued her education at Ottawa University, and later earned a Master's Degree in Education at University of Northern Colorado.

Pat worked as an elementary school teacher in Denver Public Schools for 31 years. While in Colorado, she spent her time with her daughter and family, and enjoyed the outdoors by skiing, biking, running and hiking. She married Phillip Pennell in 1994, and they retired together to the Bitterroot Valley in Montana. She became an active volunteer at the Daly Mansion, a member of the Bitterroot Quilters Guild, Tuesday Girls, Bent Needlers and Victor Book Club. She loved hiking with the Backcountry Women around the Valley and in Glacier National Park, downhill skiing, and travelling the world with friends and family. Her granddaughters were regular visitors to Montana and brought her boundless joy throughout her life.

Pat is survived by her husband Phillip Pennell; brother Louis Jones, sister Linda Roundtree, daughter Tracy Donovan and her husband Mike; step daughters Pam Price and Patty Noel; granddaughters Emma Patricia and Abigail Martha. Donations in her honour can be sent to the Marcus Daly Hospice Center or Families First of Colorado.
