Paul P. Gaul

July 6, 1934 — September 2, 2022

Paul P. Gaul passed away peacefully on September 2, 2022, in his home outside of Corvallis, Montana. He was 88 years old. As a young man, Paul served in the US Army. He married Patricia Miller in 1958, and started a family in LeMars, Iowa. He moved with his family to the Bitterroot Valley, in Montana in 1972, where they enjoyed the beautiful rivers, mountains, and spectacular views which became home to them. Paul often took his kids camping, fishing and canoeing, instilling a love of the out-of-doors in all of them.

Paul worked hard as an auto and machinery mechanic, owning his own business for a time in Hamilton, Montana. He loved to work on and restore old John Deere tractors, and always had tractor projects going on.

Paul was a man who worked hard, loved to relax among family and friends, and had a quick wit with his sense of humor. He enjoyed the simple pleasures of his many grandchildren tumbling around, or watching wildlife in the backyard.

Paul faced health challenges but had a very strong will to live. He kept fighting to live a long life and in his final years, he was lovingly cared for by his family.

He will be missed by his wife, Pat, his children: Bruce Gaul, Cathy Cranmore, Karen Gaul, Donna Fernandez, Lori Tippett, Darla Gaul, and Janet Fogel; and his many grandchildren.

A Funeral will be celebrated at 11:00 am on Thursday, September 8, 2022 at St Francis Catholic Church, in Hamilton with burial to follow at the Corvallis Cemetery.
