Hamilton - Phyllis Jean Langley, beloved wife and mother, passed on Wednesday, January 6th, at Valley View Estates in Hamilton. She had been in declining health for several years.
A native of the Bitterroot, Phyllis was born on 26 November, 1919, to Fred and Ila Johnson. She was raised in a small house on Sixth Street, graduated from Hamilton High School and then attended business college in Missoula.
After working at the Ravalli County Treasurer’s Office for a time, she married R. P. (Bob) MacKey, also a native of Hamilton in 1945. Their son, Leonard, was born in 1946, and they divorced in 1953.
She then worked for the Montana Power Company, where she met Jim Langley. They married in 1958, and their son, Jeff, was born in 1962. Jim had two children that were brought into the brood; Virginia and Mike.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Langley and her daughter Virginia. She is survived by her sons, Jeff, Mike, and Leonard, and a nephew, Dr. Fred Stout of Missoula.
Services will be held on Wednesday, January 13, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at the Daly-Leach Chapel with a reception following in the funeral home’s community room. Interment will take place at Riverview Cemetery following the reception. Condolences may be left for the family at www.dalyleachchapel.com.
